How does a Mom Sign Up with a Service Provider?
Express Interest :
The mom clicks the "I'm Interested in Your Services" button on the Service Provider's profile. This notifies the Service Provider (SP) to reach out directly.
Connect with Multiple Providers :
Moms can contact multiple SPs who offer similar services to explore options and gather information.
Communication and Due Diligence :
Engage in discussions with the SPs to ask questions, understand their offerings, and ensure they meet her needs.
Version 2: Verification and background checks will be available as premium option for registry creators to include as part of their decision-making process.
Select a Service Provider :
When ready to choose, the mom returns to The Dopple platform and selects her preferred SP.
Initiate a Service Request :
Submit a service request that includes the agreed-upon details such as: SP Name, Contact Information, Service Description, Pricing and Payment Terms.
Confirm Agreement :
Both the mom and the SP confirm the details of the service, including the tasks to be performed, the rate, and any other conditions.
After agreement, the service is officially scheduled, and both parties can proceed confidently.
How does the Service Provider get paid?
Service Completion and Confirmation :
Once the service is provided, the SP logs into their Dopple admin account and initiates a Service Confirmation Request .
This alerts the mom to confirm the service was performed.
Mom's Confirmation or Feedback :
The mom can either:
Confirm the Service : This includes rating the service and approving the payment.
Flag an Issue : If the service wasn't performed or there's a problem, the mom can click "No, wasn't performed" or "There is an issue here" , prompting Dopple Customer Service to follow up and resolve the matter.
Payment Options :
For the first $600 in a calendar year , SPs can receive payments directly via Zelle, PayPal, Venmo , or other payment methods.
Once an SP earns over $600 in a calendar year , they must update their payment information through Stripe Connect (white-labeled for Dopple) to continue receiving payments.
Stripe Integration and Tax Handling :
After linking their Stripe Connect account, payments are seamlessly processed through Dopple.
Stripe handles all 1099 forms and tax-related information, ensuring compliance with tax regulations.
This streamlined process ensures secure and transparent payments for both moms and service providers.
How does a Service Provider handle a partially funded service? How does the transaction work?
Service Scheduling Based on Available Funds :
Moms can only request and schedule services up to the amount currently funded in their account.
For example, if a $2,000 doula service is listed on the registry and $800 has been funded, the mom can schedule services totaling up to $800.
Managing the Remaining Balance :
As additional funds are contributed (e.g., the remaining $1,200 in the example), the mom can return to The Dopple platform to schedule more services, up to the newly available balance.
Confirmation and Payment Process :
Once a service is performed, the mom confirms its completion on the platform.
The Dopple then pays the Service Provider (SP) using the funds that have been contributed by the gifter(s).
This approach ensures that services are scheduled within the limits of available funding, while providing flexibility as additional contributions are made.
What is the cancellation policy for special circumstances, such as a loss, and how is gifted money handled?
Payment Policy :
Payments to the Service Provider (SP) are made only after a service is completed and confirmed by the mom .
Reallocating Unused Funds :
If the mom no longer requires a contracted service due to a loss or special circumstances, any unused funds can be reallocated to a different service.
For example: If the mom initially registered for doula services but, after 4 sessions, wishes to reallocate the remaining balance to a night nanny or another service, she can do so directly through Dopple platform.
Flexibility of Registry Funds :
Registry funds are not locked into a specific service. Moms have the freedom to reassign the funds to any service offered on the platform, based on their changing needs.
This flexible policy ensures that funds are used in a way that best supports the mom's evolving situation while maintaining fairness to service providers.
How does Dopple make money?
Service Fee for Registry-Funded Services :
When Dopple connects a mom (client) to a service provider , a 10% service fee is added to the cost of the service.
This fee is covered by the gifter contributing to the mom's registry, not by the mom or the service provider.
Affiliate and Drop Ship Revenue from Products Purchased. Fractionalization fees (closing transaction fees) on products purchased.
Margins on diaper, clothing & meal subscriptions
Referral Incentive for Provider-Referred Moms :
If the service provider brings the mom (client) to The Dopple , Dopple pays the Service Provider a $250 referral incentive per mom who completes a full gift registry.
This fee ensures providers benefit from connecting their clients to the Dopple platform while Dopple continues to support the relationship.
This dual revenue model balances affordability for moms, transparency for gifters, and value for service providers.
How Does a Referral Get Credited for Bringing a Mom to Dopple?
Tracking Referrals :
Referrals are tracked using a specific UTM code that links the referring Service Provider's account with the mom's account.
Referral Tools :
QR Code : Service Providers can share a unique QR code that moms can scan to register directly on Dopple. This QR code contains the provider's referral UTM for seamless tracking.
Referral Code : Providers can also share a unique referral code with moms, which they enter during registration to ensure the provider receives credit.
Automatic Linking :
When the mom registers using the referral tools, Dopple's system automatically links her account with the referring SP's account.
This system ensures accurate crediting of referrals while simplifying the process for both moms and service providers.
